A useful reference architecture begins with business capabilities and value streams. This view explains how the organization creates value and how its people, processes, information and technology connect. It also helps reveal duplicated systems and fragmented responsibilities.

A shared architecture view supports strategy execution by making dependencies visible. Leaders can assess initiatives against business goals and direct resources toward the changes that matter most. The value comes from using the model to guide decisions and keeping it current as the business changes.
