ArchiMate, BPMN and UML provide different but complementary views of an enterprise. ArchiMate helps explain relationships across the organization. BPMN describes business processes and workflows. UML supports more detailed views of systems and software design.

Using these languages together can improve the connection between business objectives and technical design. Choose the notation according to the audience and the decision being supported, then maintain links between the business, process and application views so that teams can work from a coherent picture.
